Pack Athletics is known across the Southeast for being the fastest growing and most successful all-star cheerleading program in the Lowcountry by earning over 500 national titles and winning The Summit in 2022, the definitive National Championship at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.

Their mission focuses on empowering young athletes to achieve their full potential by learning the value of teamwork, a strong work ethic, goal setting, and good sportsmanship all within a positive support system.

But Pack Athletics on St. Andrews Blvd in Charleston offers so much more than just cheerleading in their large facility. According to Jenna Hodsdon, owner and founder of Pack Athletics, there are many exciting programs, classes, and camps that the gym offers outside of their renowned cheer program Wolfpack.

”We have expanded into activities involving summer camps, skills camps, high school training, birthday parties, pre-school programs, Parent-Tot tumble programs, and more. We have grown exponentially since starting Pack Athletics,” Hodsdon shares.

Kids of all ages can enjoy an action-packed birthday celebration that includes tumbling, obstacle courses, nerf wars, themed princess and superhero parties, the use of trampolines, Jump Castles and more. Parents can customize the party space and set the kids loose and relax while they enjoy supervised party activities within the gym.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. If parents need a night out, they can drop their kids off at Pack Athletics for Kids Night Out – a fun-filled night held twice a month on Friday evenings where parents can leave their kids to experience an action-packed evening of pizza, games and a movie projected onto a big screen.

If your kids want even more tumbling opportunities, Pack Athletics also offers popular summer camps, skills camps, high school training, and field trips.

There are options for all skill and age levels, ranging from walking age to high school, beginner to advanced. Pack Athletics offers Tot Tumbling classes (ages 2-3), Tiny Tumbling (ages 3-5), Mini Tumbling (ages 5-8), and skill-based classes for all other age groups which focus on walkovers, handsprings, tucks, twisting, and more.

Pack Athletics designs all of their programs specifically for each age group. Hodsdon says, “We truly do it all, and offer something for everyone from 6 months to adults. We serve over 1,000 athletes of all ages from Savannah to Charleston and even Myrtle Beach, including 350 All Star Athletes that travel with us throughout the Southeast.”

And there truly is something for everyone, no matter the age. Their Parent-Tot tumble classes and Tot Open Gyms are designed for children that are walking to 2 years of age. These classes are a great way for parents and their children to bond and work together in a playful, fun, and safe atmosphere. Tot Open Gyms are every week from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Cheerleading classes are also offered for all ages, including a Tiny Cheer 101 class and Show Team (ages 3-5), Mini Cheer 101 and Show Team (ages 6-8), Cheer 101 (ages 9+), Flight and Flex (all ages), and Boys Tumble and Obstacle (ages 6+).

But what truly sets Pack Athletics aside from other cheer and tumbling gyms? While the staff loves the sport of competitive cheer, they’re truly there to provide a positive, safe, and fun experience for the kids.

Hodsdon says, “The competition experience is amazing. However, the relationships and lessons our coaches are teaching the athletes in our community are far more important. To work with an athlete that is struggling with a skill and be able to teach them how to overcome a setback by never giving up, trusting the process, believing in themselves, and watching them regain their confidence and realizing that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to – that is why we love to coach. That is worth more than any win.”

The gym focuses on creating a positive family-style gym for all who attend classes, teams, events, and camps. The staff includes a lot of positive coaching and life lessons in their sessions in addition to skill training. They put families first and grow their athletes from the ground up; both athletically and personally.

Hodsdon says, “The gym is a tight-knit community, like a second home to our athletes, parents, and staff. The wonderful thing about cheer is that it’s a team sport, and we love teaching our athletes how to work as a team in a positive way and how those lessons can best prepare them for their future.”

For anyone who is interested in classes, camps, and activities that Pack Athletics has to offer, Hodsdon encourages you to stop by, observe a class, and get a personal tour from a coach.
